A wildfire in Arizona has burned nearly 400 hectares and continues to spread

The "Heizen" wildfire south of the town of Bacay in Arizona has burned more than 396 hectares and remains uncontained.

This was reported by Arizona’s Family, citing the state’s Department of Forestry. Despite a temporary lull overnight, wind gusts of up to 48 km/h on Sunday helped the fire break through the firebreak and spread to new areas.

The fire is currently moving in a northeasterly direction, but the fire department has confirmed that there are no casualties or damaged buildings. State authorities are continuing efforts to contain the fire and are investigating the cause of the blaze, which broke out on Saturday. Firefighting efforts are being hampered by weather conditions typical for this season in the region.

In Chile, severe wildfires have been reported, resulting in the deaths of at least 18 people and the forced evacuation of tens of thousands of residents.

In the Patagonia region of Argentina, large-scale wildfires have destroyed about 12,000 hectares of shrubland, forest plantations, and natural forests. The fires pose a serious threat to local communities and infrastructure
