In Estonia, fighter jets shot down a drone that was believed to be a Ukrainian attack drone and had accidentally entered the country’s airspace. An air raid alert was issued in parts of Estonia following the incident.

This was reported by the Estonian edition of Delfi, citing Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur.

According to Pevkur, the drone was destroyed by fighter jets patrolling the airspace of the Baltic states.

The incident occurred over Lake Võrtsjärv in south-central Estonia—approximately 80 kilometers from the Russian border.

“This is the first time we have shot down a drone on our own,” said the Estonian defense minister.

Pevkur noted that it was most likely a Ukrainian drone that may have strayed off course while en route to targets on Russian territory.

Earlier, the Estonian Armed Forces issued an air threat warning in several regions of the country due to the possible appearance of drones in the airspace.

Earlier, the reason for the activation of the warning system in Romania was another Russian drone attack on Ukrainian port infrastructure on the Danube. It caused an increased danger near the Romanian border.
