A cargo ship was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz near the coast of Oman
The UK Maritime Trade Operations Coordination Center reported a security incident that occurred seven and a half nautical miles southeast of the city of Dahit. A cargo ship was struck on its starboard side by an unidentified projectile, resulting in damage to the bridge.
According to the agency, the captain of the attacked vessel reported that there were no injuries among the crew and confirmed that no environmental damage had been caused.
Local authorities are currently investigating all the circumstances and causes of the incident and have launched an official investigation. In light of this incident, international merchant vessels have been strongly advised to exercise the utmost caution when transiting the specified maritime area and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the British organization.

As a reminder, Oman had previously opened a temporary corridor in the Strait of Hormuz off its coast to allow ships to pass through and avoid approaching the Iranian coast. Iran still wants to charge fees for passage through the strait.
