Prime Minister Péter Magyar stated that June 29 and 30 will be the “two hardest days” for the country due to extremely high temperatures.
He also called for outdoor work to be canceled whenever possible and urged owners of buildings with air conditioning to open them to people in need of protection from the heat.
According to weather forecasts, air temperatures in some regions of Hungary could reach 41°C. The heat wave is expected to last until Wednesday, after which temperatures will begin to drop.
