The United Kingdom is allocating 115 million euros to strengthen Ukraine's air defense capabilities

The British government has announced an emergency allocation of 100 million pounds (115 million euros) to strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses.

According to the British government’s website, the funding will be directed toward protecting frontline troops and critical infrastructure from Russian airstrikes. In total, over the past two months, London has allocated 600 million pounds (691 million euros) to support Ukraine’s air defense.

Defense Minister John Gilley emphasized that this step will ensure the protection of civilians and cities from relentless shelling. The new package builds on previous agreements announced in February at a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group. Previous tranches included £150 million for NATO’s PURL initiative to supply interceptors, as well as over 1,000 Light Multiple Missiles (LMMs). The British side stresses the importance of the rapid delivery of weapons to achieve peace on Ukraine’s terms.

The UK and Norway will help fund the delivery of hundreds of thousands of drones to Ukraine as part of a new $580 million (£450 million) military aid package.

Earlier, the UK announced that it would join the drone coalition established by Latvia to support Ukraine.
