Explosions at military facility near Aleppo injure four — Asharq Al-Awsat
In Syria, a series of explosions occurred at a military facility near the town of Al-Eis near Aleppo on the morning of September 21. At least four civilians were injured, Asharq Al-Awsat reports, citing Syrian state media.
Injured and evacuation
According to the state news agency SANA, one civilian sustained a shrapnel injury as a result of an explosion at an ammunition depot. Two other people experienced temporary breathing problems. Another civilian was injured in a road accident while trying to leave the area of the explosions.
Civil defense units transported the injured and evacuated three families from the area of the incident. According to AFP, rescuers remained on high alert because the explosions continued.
Faisal Mohammad Ali, head of the operations department of Aleppo Civil Defense, told state television channel Al-Ikhbariya that the explosions prevented emergency services from reaching the scene quickly.

Restrictions in the area of the explosions
The cause of the explosions had not been established at the time of publication. A resident of Aleppo's Hamdaniya district told AFP that he heard a powerful explosion and saw a large blaze in the distance from the roof of his home.
Aleppo Governor Azzam al-Gharib urged residents to temporarily stay indoors. According to him, hospitals, ambulance crews and emergency services were placed on full alert. Aleppo's Internal Security Command said that roads leading to the site of the explosions had been closed for civilian safety.
The day before, an explosion of unknown origin at a military facility in the eastern province of Deir ez-Zor killed 11 people. Earlier this month, an explosion at a Defense Ministry weapons depot in Idlib province reportedly killed 14 people and injured another 11.
