Xi Jinping to Visit the U.S. for the First Time in 11 Years – Reuters
Chinese leader Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to the United States from September 23 to 25 at the invitation of President Donald Trump.
During the visit, the two sides will hold talks on key issues in Sino-U.S. relations, as well as global peace and development. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiajun emphasized the the “historic and landmark significance” of the reciprocal visits by the two heads of state over the past six months and underscored Beijing’s readiness to strengthen dialogue and properly resolve differences with Washington.
Xi Jinping’s previous state visit to the U.S. took place in September 2015 at the invitation of then-President Barack Obama.

In the U.S., President Donald Trump is scheduled to host Chinese President Xi Jinping at a state dinner on September 24. During his first election campaign, Trump called China a threat to the U.S. economy, but recently he has been speaking more and more positively about the Chinese leader.
Trump announced a series of agreements during his meeting with Xi.
