Video: The body of war criminal Ratko Mladić was transported to Serbia

The body of Ratko Mladić, a former Bosnian Serb general and convicted war criminal who died on August 27 at a UN detention center in The Hague, has been transported to Serbia. Footage released shows military personnel carrying the coffin containing his body off the plane and loading it into a minibus.

Ratko Mladić was found guilty of genocide for his role in the 1995 Srebrenica massacre. During those events, after Bosnian Serbs seized the enclave, approximately 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys were killed.

Ratko Mladić, the former commander of the Bosnian Serb Army, died in prison, where he was serving a life sentence. In the 1990s, he was charged with war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

Two women who survived crimes committed by Ratko Mladić’s forces during the 1992–1995 war in Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed despair over the fact that young Serbs in Bosnia were honoring his legacy following the death of the convicted war criminal.
