Video: Individuals detained in Baku for promoting Communist Ideology

In Baku, police detained several individuals who attempted to organize a march displaying flags of the former USSR.

According to report.az, the investigation indicated that the detainees rented an office with financial support from a foreign state and held regular meetings.

As part of a special operation, authorities seized materials promoting communist ideology, including books, flags, and electronic media. Searches of the detainees’ homes yielded numerous additional materials indicating their intentions. Among those detained were Abdullah Ibrahimli and Ibrahim Asadli, who reportedly operated openly within a structure aligned with communist ideas.

The incident has drawn significant attention in light of recent legislative changes in the Czech Republic, where promoting communist ideology is treated on par with Nazi propaganda and is punishable by imprisonment. The arrests in Baku underscore growing global tensions surrounding the promotion of such ideologies, raising concerns in society.
