Video: Etna's eruption caused the cancellation of 700 flights
The Catania Airport in Sicily has once again suspended arrivals and departures due to a cloud of volcanic ash from Mount Etna.
Due to the ongoing eruption since August 8, approximately 700 flights have already been canceled, including 52 on August 13. More than 400 additional flights have been rerouted to other airports in Sicily.
Airport officials reported that flight restrictions are tentatively in effect until 2:00 a.m. on August 14. Passengers are urged to check the status of their flights before traveling to the airport.
