Pope Leo to Embark on a Tour of South America – Reuters
In November, Pope Leo will embark on an 11-day tour of Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru, during which he will visit 10 cities and deliver 36 speeches. This was reported by UNN, citing Reuters.
In total, the pontiff will travel about 31,000 kilometers and hold approximately 50 events from November 6 to 17.
The visit’s itinerary includes a meeting with Argentine President Javier Milei, who is considered a close ally of U.S. President Donald Trump; visits to prisons in Buenos Aires; a Mass in Luján, a speech in Lima, and a dinner with priests in Chiclayo, where the pontiff previously served as bishop. For the 71-year-old head of the Catholic Church, this will be his fifth foreign tour in 2026 and the first papal visit to South America since 2018.
