On August 13, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the Ivano-Frankivsk region on a working visit. The head of state began his visit by paying tribute to the fallen Ukrainian soldiers.
Zelenskyy visited the Memorial Square in Ivano-Frankivsk and emphasized the importance of creating spaces where fallen defenders—both men and women—can be honored.
The president paid tribute to the fallen Ukrainian soldiers and stressed the importance of preserving the memory of everyone who gave their lives for the country.
“Eternal respect and gratitude to every man and woman who defended Ukraine and gave their lives in this struggle. May our fallen soldiers rest in peace,” Zelenskyy said.
Separately, the head of state thanked those who create memorial sites in honor of fallen defenders. According to the president, such places give Ukrainians the opportunity to personally honor the fallen and express their gratitude to them.
“And I also thank those who are creating memorial sites for our heroes, where Ukrainians can come and simply say, ‘Thank you.’ It is very important that the number of these spaces continues to grow. Everyone who gave their life so that others could live in peace deserves this,” the president emphasized.
