Journalist Jason Smith called China’s market an opportunity for exporters
In China, American journalist Jason Smith, speaking on the News Lounge China News Network program, rejected the claim that the country’s growing manufacturing sector allegedly narrows opportunities for the industrialization of Global South states. ECNS reports.
Trade fairs
Smith referred to his own observations at trade fairs in China. According to him, representatives of African and South American countries can often be seen among exhibitors at such events.
The journalist said that they come to China to conclude commercial deals. He also pointed to the country’s large consumer market as an opportunity for global companies.

Zero tariffs
As an example, Smith cited the zero-tariff regime that China, according to him, applies to the overwhelming majority of African countries. In his view, this gives these countries access to the large Chinese market.
According to the journalist’s assessment, trade between China and other developing countries allows them to export products and increase their value.
