Journalist and professor Gideon Kutz dies in Paris at 78 — Jerusalem Post
Israeli journalist and professor Gideon Kutz has died in Paris, France, at the age of 78. For four decades, he was the Voice of Israel correspondent in the French capital and one of the most recognizable voices of Israeli public broadcasting in France and Europe.
Career in European media
According to the Jerusalem Post, Kutz began broadcasting on Voice of Israel in 1986. He later worked as Channel 1's correspondent in Europe and, after the establishment of the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation KAN, remained a correspondent and commentator on European affairs.
In recent years, Kutz also wrote reports and commentary from France and other European countries for Maariv. During his journalistic career, he covered the fall of the Berlin Wall, revolutions in Eastern Europe, the wars in Yugoslavia and Chechnya, the Middle East peace process, the Arab Spring, terrorist attacks in Europe, the crisis in Ukraine, and negotiations over Iran's nuclear program.

Academic activity
Alongside his media work, Kutz researched the history of the Hebrew and Jewish press in Europe. He was a full professor of communications and culture at Paris VIII University and edited Kesher, a journal dedicated to the history of the Jewish and Hebrew press and media.
Kutz headed the Foreign Press Association in France for five years and later became its honorary president. KAN called him a symbol of Voice of Israel and the foreign broadcasting of the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation in Europe. He is survived by his wife, journalist and photographer Yaffa Eiron-Kutz, and two children.
