The star of "Baywatch" has declined to return to the series

Pamela Anderson will not be appearing in the reboot of the series *Baywatch*, which is being developed by Fox. The actress turned down an offer from the producers of the new project, even though production is currently underway in California for the 2026–2027 season.

This was reported by The New Daily.

Anderson became the star of the original series thanks to her role as C.J. Parker, which made her one of the most recognizable faces on television in the 1990s. However, according to a source close to the production, the actress has no plans to return to the role.

“Pamela was offered the role—and she turned it down. The actress has moved on from that chapter. She’s focused on the future, not on what came before,” the source noted.

News of the “Baywatch” reboot broke last September. The project is being positioned as a modern reimagining of the series with a new cast and a revamped storyline. The producers decided not to rely on the return of the original stars, but instead to introduce a new generation of characters.

The original “Baywatch,” which aired from 1989 to 2001, became one of the most popular series in the world. It brought international fame not only to Anderson but also to her colleagues, including David Hasselhoff and Carmen Electra, and became an important part of 1990s pop culture.

The new series will feature a younger cast and a more modern take on the work of lifeguards, though plot details have not yet been revealed. At the same time, some actors from the original cast will appear in the project.

In particular, Erica Eleniak will return to the role of Shoni McClain. In the new story, her character is a former lifeguard who became a member of the Santa Monica City Council but returns to the beach to participate in the annual Beach Games alongside a new generation of lifeguards.

The cast also includes Stephen Amell, Shay Mitchell, Brooks Naider, and Noah Beck.

In Russia, there are proposalsto ban foreign films during the May holidays.

In the Russian capital, concerns are growing about the safety of the May 9 parade. Despite official statements from the Kremlin that preparations are proceeding “according to plan,” reports are circulating in military circles and among bloggers about the cancellation of rehearsals and possible restrictions on the event due to the risk of drone attacks.

As a reminder, last year Russia completely canceled the Navy Day parade for the first time, which was scheduled to take place on July 27, 2025. This occurred against the backdrop of an attack by Ukrainian drones.
