The Hungarian government has commented on the massive attack by Russian drones on Transcarpathia, during which the region’s critical infrastructure was targeted. Officials in Budapest described the situation in the border region as extremely alarming and announced that they are preparing urgent countermeasures.
This was reported with reference to a statement by Hungarian Foreign Minister Anita Orbán and Index.
The Hungarian government’s reaction
Anita Orbán stated that the government is closely monitoring the situation and will include this issue on the agenda of today’s cabinet meeting.
At the time of her statement, at least five drone strikes had been reported in various settlements across the region, including near Svalyava and in Uzhhorod.
"We strongly condemn the attack. We are in constant contact with our consul general; we have spoken with him several times by phone and requested information about the situation," the minister emphasized.
