A drone found near the Polish border with Russia may have been a reconnaissance drone
The drone discovered near the Polish-Russian border in the vicinity of the town of Bartoszyce was likely a reconnaissance drone and did not carry a warhead.
This was stated by Poland’s Deputy Minister of the Interior, Wiesław Szczepanski.
The drone was found on May 9 in a field near the border. According to the official, it was not possible to intercept it because it was flying at high speed and landed immediately after crossing the border.
Szczepanski noted that all services responded promptly after receiving a report from the person who discovered the drone.
Currently, Polish authorities are investigating all the circumstances of the incident and verifying the theory that the drone flew in from Russian territory.
