A Russian drone found in Poland proved to be more difficult to examine

Experts attempted to examine the drone using an X-ray, but its casing blocks the rays. The military is now looking for another way to look inside and wants to keep the drone intact.
Polish military personnel encountered an unusual problem while examining a Russian drone found the day before in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Experts have not yet been able to determine whether the drone contains a warhead or poses a danger. The drone is in remarkably good condition. That is why the Polish military wants to examine it in as much detail as possible to gather information about Russian technology.
X-rays failed to penetrate the drone
Initially, experts tried using specialized X-ray equipment. However, this method did not work. The drone’s outer shell proved to be impervious to X-rays. As a result, the military was unable to see what was inside the drone. Now experts are looking for other ways to examine the drone. At the same time, Polish authorities want to avoid destroying it unless absolutely necessary.
The military is trying to keep the drone intact, as it could provide important information about the design and technologies used by Russia. “This is a source of knowledge about Russian technologies for us, so we must do everything we can to prevent the drone from being destroyed,” the military stated. According to sources speaking to RMF FM, military drones are rarely found in such good condition. Usually, after a crash or impact, they sustain much more serious damage. Therefore, this latest find may be particularly valuable to Polish experts. They will be able to study the drone in greater detail, including its design and the technical solutions incorporated into it.
Are There Explosives Inside?
For now, the main question for the Polish military is whether the drone contains an explosive charge. Experts have already determined that the drone poses no radiological, biological, or chemical threat. However, they have not yet been able to verify whether it contains explosives. That is why further investigation will be conducted with great caution. Experts need to simultaneously determine what is inside the drone and prevent a possible explosion.
