King Charles and Camilla made a surprise visit to a brewery and tasted some beer
King Charles III of Great Britain, along with Queen Camilla, visited the Hall and Woodhouse Badger Brewery in Blandford Forum. The brewery is celebrating its 250th anniversary this year.
During the visit, the monarch joked about England’s disappointing soccer result and noted that such a day was a good opportunity to “drown one’s sorrows a little.” Charles poured himself a pint of beer, raised his glass, and took a sip along with those present.
The monarch was greeted with applause and cheers during his visit as the Queen assisted him behind the bar at the Hall and Woodhouse brewery near Blandford Forum.
Earlier, the King and Queen unveiled a commemorative plaque marking the 250th anniversary of the family-owned brewery. Charles learned that Hall and Woodhouse, whose pubs include the Duchess of Cornwall Inn—opened by Camilla in 2016—is run by a family now in its ninth generation.
King Charles arrived at the event wearing a light gray striped suit and a white shirt with a tie, while his wife wore a light-colored dress and her favorite beaded necklace. The couple looked very well-matched.
