Justin Trudeau's son is pursuing a career in music and performed at a festival in Ottawa
Xavier, the 18-year-old son of former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, continues to pursue his music career. He recently performed as a rapper at the Shawarma Fest in Ottawa.
After the performance, Xavier shared photos from the festival on his social media accounts and thanked the organizers and the audience for the invitation.
He released his first single, “Til the Nights Done,” in February 2025, after which he began actively working to advance his career in the music industry.
In interviews with American media, Xavier has repeatedly stated that his father’s popularity influences the public’s perception of his work. According to him, some people judge him not by his music, but because of Justin Trudeau’s political activities.
“If they don’t like my dad, then they immediately don’t like me either. If you don’t like me because you don’t like my music, and you think it’s the worst thing in the world? Okay, fine. I’ll live with that. But when you don’t even try? I can’t respect that,” he told Vulture.
At the same time, the young man believes that being the son of a former prime minister has both advantages and disadvantages. He emphasizes that he wants to make a name for himself in the music industry and inspire listeners with his creativity.
Justin Trudeau and Sophie Grégoir announced their divorce in 2023 after 18 years of marriage. In addition to Xavier, they have two other children—a daughter, Ella-Grace, and a son, Hadriyen.
