Lilia Sandulesu has spoken out for the first time about the scandal involving Ivo Bobul
Singer Lilia Sandulesu reflected on her relationship with Ivo Bobul and commented on the high-profile scandal between them. She also shared her personal plans for the future, particularly regarding a new marriage
She spoke about this in an interview with BLIK.
Singer Lilia Sandulesu confirmed that she has completely cut off contact with her ex-husband Ivo Bobul and spoke about her new marriage, which has been going on for over three years.
The People’s Artist commented on Ivo Bobul’s harsh reaction to her recent confession about a terminated pregnancy during their marriage. The singer noted that they currently have no contact.
“To say that it’s on his conscience is an understatement. It’s just that when a person doesn’t use their head—not to mention their brain—well, that’s his problem,” Sandulesu said emotionally regarding her ex-husband’s stance, who had previously called her words a lie and stated that he had lost respect for her.
On the eve of her 68th birthday, the artist revealed that she has been officially married for quite some time. She met her partner online: he was a fan of her work on YouTube.
The singer continues to keep her husband’s name and identity a secret, noting that it was their joint decision to keep their personal life out of the public eye. She emphasized that she currently feels completely happy and supported by her partner.
Despite these personal developments, Lilia Sandulesu is preparing for new performances. In the near future, the artist plans a trip to Ireland, and upon her return this summer, she will begin recording new solo tracks. The singer has also announced a series of concerts for her fans.
As a reminder, Lilia Sandulesu and Ivo Bobul were one of the most popular couples in Ukrainian pop music in the 1990s. Their creative duo gave listeners such hits as “A Lypy Tsvitut” and “Bereg Lyubovi.” The artists were married for about 10 years and divorced in 2002, after which they did not perform together for a long time. The couple did not have any children together.
The former spouses did not part on good terms. Later, Lilia Sandulesa shocked everyone with the revelation that at the height of their popularity, she was pregnant with Ivo Bobul’s child, but he insisted on an abortion. Ivo Bobul reacted to his ex-wife’s confession and stated that he no longer respects his ex-wife, singer Lilia Sandulesa.
At the same time, the People’s Artist noted that Lilia Sandulesa had lied about the abortion. He added that he doesn’t understand why she spoke publicly about their married life.
