Povaliy's son has cut off contact with his mother — the singer has issued a statement

Propagandist Taisiya Povaliy spoke about the breakdown in her relationship with her own son in an interview with Russian media. According to her, political disagreements between her and her son began back when Denis Povaliy was studying at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, while the Orange Revolution was raging in the streets. In particular, Povaliy did not like that all of her son’s friends—and he along with them—supported the Orange Revolution, while Povaliy herself was already part of Yanukovych’s team.

“Since 2004, when he was studying at the Institute of International Relations, when all his friends were ‘pro-Orange,’ when everyone was against the government, and I had just become a member of parliament, there were serious arguments with my son at home,” the singer said.

According to Povaliy, her son fell under the influence of “propaganda.” “He’s being fed the same information on every channel—that Russia is bad. He fell under the influence of propaganda,” the artist believes.

After the invasion, Denis Povaliy left with his family for Spain. According to the pro-Putin artist, her son now sends her only one message a year, when he wishes her a happy birthday. “I didn’t ask my son to stay because I understood that he had to go to his family. They left Kyiv then and moved to Europe. They bought a ticket for Denis, too. We have no contact now. Denis just sends me a birthday greeting via text message,” the singer said.

During the interview, Taisiya Povaliy couldn’t hold back her emotions and spoke tearfully about her relationship with her son. She also admitted that she felt alone after losing contact with him. “No one needs me anymore. It’s time for me to go. That’s what was going through my head. It’s horrible,” the singer noted. At the same time, she admitted that she was in the wrong.
