Zelenskyy Outlined Priority Issues at the G7 Summit - Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy outlined the country’s key priorities during the first G7-Ukraine multilateral meeting, which is taking place as part of the international summit in France.
The main tasks for strengthening the country’s defense capabilities include a significant increase in the supply of missiles for air defense systems and obtaining licenses for their domestic production.
During the talks, leaders also agreed on a large-scale energy support package for the winter period and steps to intensify sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation.
Official high-level talks allowed for clear coordination of international partners’ actions to provide Kyiv with the necessary strategic assistance. The U.S. side will play a special role in the implementation of the planned defense programs.
“Today’s first multilateral meeting—the G7 format—features Ukraine at the G7 summit. The priorities are clear: increasing the number of air defense missiles and granting licenses for their production, a support package for the winter, and intensifying pressure on Russia. It is important that the U.S. is ready to provide a backstop in these areas,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
The Ukrainian delegation stresses the importance of the immediate implementation of every signed agreement to achieve a stable peace in Eastern Europe.
The President noted that the key task remains the implementation of all agreements reached. He emphasized: Russia must realize that its war will never become the norm.
The united stance of democratic nations has demonstrated a readiness to counter any attempts by the aggressor to legitimize the seizure of foreign territories.
