The ship carrying the stolen Ukrainian grain has left Israel
Following the actions of Ukrainian law enforcement officials, the Panormitis, carrying Ukrainian grain seized by the Russians, left Israeli territorial waters and entered neutral waters. Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko emphasized that this does not affect the criminal proceedings or the liability of those involved.
“Such behavior may indicate an awareness of the risk of measures being taken against the vessel and its cargo to ensure criminal proceedings, in particular seizure,” Kravchenko emphasized.
The Prosecutor General noted that based on materials provided by the Ukrainian side within the framework of international legal cooperation, the competent Israeli authorities have begun executing the relevant request, and the fact of the offense has been recorded at the international level. According to him, the further movement of the vessel and cargo, as well as the actions of individuals involved in this scheme, will remain subject to legal action in any jurisdiction that recognizes the rule of law and respects Ukraine’s sovereignty.
“The vessel’s departure into neutral waters does not halt criminal proceedings and does not exempt those involved from liability. Ukraine continues its procedural work, monitors the movements of all Russian vessels, and will use all available mechanisms of international legal cooperation to seize assets, identify all participants in the scheme, and hold them accountable,” the Prosecutor General added.
