On April 12, Orthodox Christians celebrate one of their most important holidays—the Resurrection of the Lord, or Easter. This is followed by Bright Week. April marks the end of one of the longest Orthodox fasts—Great Lent.

The Pope and the Ecumenical Patriarch are discussing the possibility of celebrating Easter on the same day for Catholics and Orthodox Christians. In Ukraine, the Greek Catholic Church has already adapted the calendar of fixed holidays, and a common Easter is being discussed at the international level, said Father Ihor Yatsiv, head of the Information Department of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
