Power outages have occurred in Kyiv following a massive attack; there are casualties

On the night of June 2, Russian forces launched a combined attack on Kyiv, using various types of missiles and attack drones. The shelling caused damage to infrastructure, fires, and power outages in the capital.

This was reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

Power outages occurred in the Podil, Obolon, and Sviatoshyn districts of the capital.

During the air raid alert, reports came in of cruise, ballistic, and hypersonic missiles being launched, as well as groups of attack drones approaching Kyiv.

As a result of the attack, several districts of the city sustained damage. Rescue workers extinguished numerous fires in open areas, as well as fires in residential and non-residential buildings, warehouses, and vehicles.

In the Holosiivskyi district, the facade and windows of a medical facility were damaged. Additionally, the blast wave shattered windows in buildings across various districts of the capital.

As of this morning, eight people are known to have been injured. No reports of fatalities have been received so far.

Work is ongoing in the capital to address the aftermath of the nighttime attack and restore damaged infrastructure. Relevant services continue to survey the areas affected by the strikes.

As a result of the attack by Russian drones in the village of Vasyshcheve in the Kharkiv region, a fire broke out on the premises of a civilian enterprise. According to preliminary data, wooden pallets caught fire over an area of approximately 800 square meters.

As a reminder, Russia attacked dozens of settlements in the Kherson region over the past 24 hours, resulting in casualties.

Over the past day, Russian troops shelled 49 settlements in the Sumy region. As a result of the attacks, one person was killed, and four more civilians were wounded.
 

On the evening of May 24, Russian troops carried out an airstrike on Druzhkivka in the Donetsk region, hitting a high-rise residential building. A woman was killed in the attack, and five other people were wounded.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, a business center was hit following a massive nighttime attack by Russia. Preliminary reports indicate that people may be trapped inside the shelter.

As a result of Russia’s massive missile and drone attack on Kyiv, the shock wave damaged the ground-level lobby of the Lukyanivska metro station.
