The United Kingdom has imposed sanctions on Wildberries and Yandex, as well as on Rosgosstrakh and A7 Agent
On June 16, 2026, the British government announced the introduction of a new, sweeping package of sanctions aimed at undermining the aggressor nation’s economic and military capabilities.
The sanctions target vessels of Russia’s “shadow fleet,” liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers, and international financial networks that the Kremlin uses to circumvent existing restrictions.
The new measures significantly increase international pressure on the occupiers’ logistics system, limiting their ability to export energy resources.
The sanctions target more than 20 oil tankers under new and expanded measures introduced last month.
In addition to the vessels themselves, legal entities and individuals suspected of facilitating the illegal trade in Russian oil have been targeted, including ship insurers and representatives of other shipping services.
A separate achievement of British diplomacy was the first strike among the G7 countries against Russia’s gas sector.
The UK became the first G7 country to impose sanctions on several liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers recently acquired by Russia to serve the sanctioned Russian “Arctic LNG 2” project, which exports millions of tons of LNG.
To date, the UK has imposed sanctions on more than 600 vessels in the shadow fleet and Russian LNG carriers.
In addition to the energy sector, the UK government has blocked covert supply channels for materials destined for the Russian defense-industrial complex.
New sanctions are also being imposed against the Russian military intelligence network (GRU), specifically its front company “LLC Neptune Co Ltd” (“Neptune”), which secretly procures Western technology for the Russian military.
Three companies and 10 GRU officers have been targeted, as well as foreign suppliers of critical military equipment from China, Thailand, and Turkey, and a financial organization in Nigeria that helped circumvent money transfer monitoring.
This was reported by the British government’s press service.
