Chinese Motorcycle ZXMOTO Wins WorldSSP Championship for the First Time
The ZXMOTO 820RR-RS motorcycle from the Chongqing-based company made history as the first Chinese manufacturer to win the Supersport class (WorldSSP) World Championship. French rider Valentin Debise secured two victories at the Portugal stage, outperforming well-established brands such as Ducati, Honda, and Yamaha.
ZXMOTO’s founder Zhang Xue watched the race remotely from Chongqing, waving the Chinese flag with tears in his eyes, noting that he had waited 20 years for this moment.
Zhang is a 38-year-old self-taught engineer from a rural district in Hubei province. Established in 2024, ZXMOTO has already developed its own engines and plans to double sales by 2026.
This victory marks a significant milestone for the Chinese company, which aims to shed the image of producing cheap motorcycles and establish itself in the premium global market.
ZXMOTO’s success in WorldSSP highlights the growing potential of Chinese motorsport and engineering, opening new opportunities for the brand internationally. Further expansion and increased recognition of Chinese motorcycles among motorsport enthusiasts are expected in the near future.
