Nissan Pixo shares its technical base with the Renault Twingo E-Tech — InsideEVs
Nissan Pixo shares its technical base and a significant part of its design with the Renault Twingo E-Tech. As InsideEVs reports, the Pixo received different front-end styling and taillights with a more angular light signature. At the same time, the body glazing and most of the model’s rear end replicate the Renault.
Shared technology of three models
The Pixo, Twingo E-Tech and Dacia Spring are built on a simplified version of the platform that underpins the Renault 5 EV and the related Nissan Micra. All three cars are equipped with a 27.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and a front electric motor producing 80 hp and 175 Nm of torque.
The claimed WLTP range is 259 km for the Nissan Pixo, 263 km for the Renault Twingo and 250 km for the Dacia Spring. Nissan states that the Pixo accelerates to 100 km/h in 11.9 seconds, while the other two models are rated at 12.1 seconds. The top speed of all three electric vehicles is 130 km/h.

Charging and interior
The Nissan Pixo comes standard with an 11 kW AC charger and support for DC fast charging at up to 50 kW. According to Nissan, charging the battery from 10% to 80% will take 30 minutes. The base Dacia Spring supports 6.6 kW AC charging, while an 11 kW AC charger and 50 kW DC charging are available in an optional package. Renault Twingo equipment depends on the market.
All three models have five doors, four seats and a 2,492 mm wheelbase. The Pixo is 3,796 mm long, the Twingo is 3,789 mm, and the Spring is 3,850 mm. The Pixo also retains the Twingo’s independently sliding rear seats, which make it possible to choose between more passenger space and luggage room.
All three models will be produced in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. Nissan has not yet announced the Pixo’s price. For comparison, in Italy the Dacia Spring costs from €17,900, while the Renault Twingo starts at €19,500, excluding incentives and without the optional charging package.
