Ningbo Port exported 301,000 new energy vehicles — ECNS
Ningbo Port in China exported 301,000 new energy vehicles worth a total of 34.22 billion yuan, or $5.05 billion, from January to August 2026. The number of exported vehicles increased by 99.1% compared with the same period last year, while their value rose by 95.5%, ECNS reports, citing data from Ningbo Customs in Zhejiang Province.
Main export destinations
The largest export destinations for new energy vehicles through Ningbo were Brazil, the United Arab Emirates and the European Union. The value of such shipments to Brazil increased by 166% year-on-year over eight months, while shipments to the EU rose by 191.5%.
Supplies to the markets of Central and Eastern Europe also increased: their value rose by 360.3% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.

Chen Xue, head of a Ningbo-based supply chain company, said that its vehicle exports are mainly directed to the Middle East, the Mediterranean and North Africa, where demand remains stable. In the first eight months, the company handled 58,200 vehicles for export, up 5.2% year-on-year. Exports of new energy vehicles increased by 11.5%.
Ningbo Customs is developing intelligent customs clearance technologies to make procedures for vehicles more efficient and support automakers' exports.
