Rivian adds new body colors and light interior for R2 — InsideEVs
Rivian has opened new trim options in the configurator for the midsize R2 electric crossover: Forest Green and Borealis Purple body colors, as well as the light Coastal Cloud Signature interior. InsideEVs reports.
New body colors
Forest Green costs an additional $1,500 and is available for the Performance, Premium, and Standard Long Range versions. Borealis Purple is priced at $2,000 and can only be ordered for the top Performance trim. The most expensive options also include Midnight Black, Catalina Cove Blue, and Launch Green.
Glacier White for $1,000 and Half Moon Grey for $1,500 are also offered for the R2. Esker Silver remains the model's standard color. Rivian said Forest Green is intended to convey the interplay of light and shadow characteristic of a forest, thanks to metallic particles in the paint.

Lighter interior
The Coastal Cloud Signature interior costs $1,000 and has a lighter palette than the standard Black Crater Signature trim. It is available for the Premium and Performance trims. Rivian says the cabin uses second-generation Advantex material, which can be wiped down after trips.
Currently, only the Rivian R2 Performance Launch Edition is being delivered, priced from $59,485. This version has two electric motors, all-wheel drive, 656 hp, and an EPA-estimated range of 330 miles. The Launch package also includes the Tow Package, a Launch key fob, and lifetime access to the Autonomy+ driver-assistance systems platform.
The Premium trim is planned to be offered later this year, priced from $55,485. It will have a range of 330 miles and 450 hp. The most affordable rear-wheel-drive R2 Standard version is expected to enter production next summer, with 350 hp, a 275-mile range, and a starting price of $46,485.
