Stellantis unveils autonomous electric BOW cargo module in Hanover
Stellantis unveiled the BOW electric autonomous cargo module concept at the IAA Transportation exhibition in Hanover, Germany. The name stands for Box On Wheels. The vehicle has no cab, windshield, instrument panel or driver’s seat; it is designed to transport parcels without a person behind the wheel.
A concept for controlled areas
BOW was developed by the Stellantis Pro One division together with autonomous technology specialist UQI Robotics. As Motor1 reports, the concept is intended to test autonomous logistics in cities, low-emission zones and controlled spaces. Stellantis lists factory sites, hospitals and airports among the potential locations for use.
The BOW design is focused on the cargo compartment. The company is considering the development for last-mile logistics and operation in environments where traffic can be controlled.

Testing in Europe
Stellantis emphasizes that BOW is currently a concept, rather than a model available to order. Initial test runs are expected to begin in Europe, while the company has not named a timeline for mass production. Stellantis has also not disclosed data on battery capacity, range, payload, motor power, sensors or the level of autonomy.
At the same exhibition, Stellantis Pro One presented the Pro One NEXT system to support the uninterrupted operation of vehicle fleets, as well as a new commercial van.
