A man opened fire inside a school shelter in Kyiv

During an air raid alert, a conflict broke out in a shelter at one of the schools in the Troyeshchyna district of the capital, during which a man fired a shot from a revolver loaded with Flobert cartridges.

According to the Municipal Security Service, the man arrived at the shelter with a child. He stated that the conflict was triggered by the loud behavior of other people in the shelter, after which he fired a shot into the air.

Upon the arrival of Municipal Security officers, the man voluntarily surrendered the weapon. Patrol officers and an investigative team were also called to the scene, and the investigative team seized the revolver.

Law enforcement officials are investigating all the circumstances of the incident and will assess the man’s actions from a legal standpoint.
