Two neighborhoods were left without heat due to a rupture on the Paton Bridge

On the morning of March 22, 2026, a major heat transfer fluid leak was detected on the Paton Bridge in Kyiv, leading to a temporary suspension of heating in two residential areas on the left bank.

According to the Kyiv City State Administration, specialists from Kyivteploenergo have already localized the damage and begun emergency repair work. Due to the specific location of the networks directly beneath the bridge structures, rope access technicians have been brought in to repair the defect at height.

Heat supply to homes in Rusanivka and Bereznyaky will be restored immediately after the installation work is completed, though the exact time the system will be restarted has not yet been specified. The accident occurred against the backdrop of the general deterioration of the capital’s heating infrastructure, which is under additional strain due to the war with Russia. Utility services assure that they are doing everything possible to quickly restore comfort to Kyiv residents’ homes, despite the difficulty of accessing the damaged section.

On the evening of March 21, 2026, electricity and water supply were cut off in some buildings on the left bank of the capital.

On Sunday, March 22, no power outages are expected in Ukraine—electricity will be available around the clock in all regions.
