A Kyivteploenergo executive is to stand trial for embezzling 900,000 hryvnias during repairs to the heating network
Kyiv police investigators have completed their pre-trial investigation and referred the case against the head of a department at the municipal enterprise "Kyivteploenergo" to court.
The official is accused of professional negligence that resulted in financial losses to the budget during repairs to the heating networks in Troieshchyna.
According to the investigation materials, the incident occurred during the organization of restoration work in the Desnianskyi district of the capital.
Approximately 9.4 million hryvnias were allocated from the city budget for this project to ensure a stable heat supply.
The defendant failed to properly fulfill her professional duties during the preparation of financial documentation.
She failed to verify the reasonableness of the cost of construction materials purchased for the repair of heating mains.
As a result of these actions, the purchase of asphalt concrete and gravel-sand mixtures was approved at significantly inflated prices.
Due to the lack of proper oversight, the municipal enterprise overpaid suppliers by more than 900,000 hryvnias.
Law enforcement officials classified the official’s actions under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—official negligence resulting in serious consequences.
Currently, the indictment is already under consideration by the court for a final decision.
As a reminder, Kyivzelenbud employees embezzled nearly 5 million hryvnias intended for the fight against ragweed.
Additionally, 750,000 hryvnias were embezzled during the renovation of a sports school in Kyiv.
