Kyiv to end heating season on 24 March

Kyiv to end heating season on 24 March

Kyiv will end its heating season from 24 March, following a decision driven by forecast warmer weather and rising air temperatures.

This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.

The disconnection of residential buildings will begin on 24 March, while hospitals, maternity wards, schools and kindergartens will be disconnected upon individual requests from their administrators.

The decision to conclude the heating season was made in light of increasing temperatures and is also expected to help residents avoid paying for heating during warmer weather.

Each year, the heating season in the capital ends once the average daily temperature remains above +8°C for several consecutive days.

Separately, Kyiv has failed to secure approval for its winter preparedness plan, with the government giving the city until April to revise it.

Earlier, municipal services restored heating to 1,100 buildings within 24 hours.
