In Kyiv, a woman kicked in the door of a supermarket after being refused alcohol

In the Dnipro district of Kyiv, a 20-year-old local woman damaged a supermarket door after being refused alcohol because the store was closed.

According to law enforcement officials, the woman came to the supermarket as it was closing, attempting to purchase alcoholic beverages.

After being refused service, she began hurling profanities at the staff, and on her way out, she kicked the lower part of the store’s door, causing property damage.

Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, established the circumstances of the incident, detained the offender in accordance with Article 298-2 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and tested her for intoxication.

The “Drager” breathalyzer showed a blood alcohol level of 0.76 per mille.

Investigators informed the woman that she was suspected of violating Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism). The penalty under this article provides for up to five years of restricted liberty.

The police emphasize that property damage and aggressive behavior in public places entail criminal liability, regardless of the circumstances of the incident.

This was reported by the Kyiv police.

As a reminder, law enforcement in the capital has opened a criminal investigation into the systematic harassment of women by a local resident.
