In Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained a 47-year-old foreign national who, while intoxicated, got into a confrontation with passersby and threatened them with a combat grenade.

This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv Police.

According to the report, the Svyatoshynsky Police Department received a report about a man who was harassing people and provoking a fight near a building on Akademika Yefremova Street. The intoxicated man took a grenade out of his pocket and began threatening to detonate it.

An investigative team, patrol police, and bomb disposal experts arrived at the scene. The suspect was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and an F-1 grenade was seized from him.

The origin of the ammunition and the purpose of its possession are currently being determined. “Under the procedural guidance of the Svyatoshyn District Prosecutor’s Office, the detainee has been notified of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—illegal handling of ammunition,” the police stated.
