Plans are underway in Kyiv for a major renovation of the subway tunnel between the "Pochaina" and "Taras Shevchenko" stations
The Kyiv Metro has received a positive expert opinion on the project for the major renovation of the tunnel section between the "Taras Shevchenko" and "Pochaina" stations.
This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.
Metro officials assure that there is no threat to train service—passenger transportation is operating as usual.
The need for repairs is due to complex hydrogeological conditions and the age of the tunnel, which was built back in 1978–1980.
The project involves soil stabilization, structural repairs, and the installation of modern monitoring systems.
The work may take up to 23 months and will be carried out either without changes to train service or with partial restrictions.
The estimated cost of the repairs is 1.84 billion UAH.
As a reminder, Kyivzelenbud employees embezzled nearly 5 million hryvnias while fighting ragweed.
Additionally, 750,000 hryvnias were embezzled during the renovation of a sports school in Kyiv.
