In Kyiv, supporters of the Moscow-controlled church attacked a OCU church in Bykivnia
In the village of Bykivnya in Kyiv, unidentified men attacked the Holy Trinity Parish of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The assailants kicked the fence, threw stones at the gate, and attempted to enter the church grounds.
According to the parish priest, during the altercation, the attackers made threats, shouted “Akhmat is power!” and voiced support for Russia.
Police officers and agents of the Security Service of Ukraine arrived at the scene and detained two individuals involved in the incident. The religious community noted that the church had transferred from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine just five months ago, so they view the incident as a possible deliberate provocation.
