A petition on the Kyiv City Council website calling for the introduction of a uniform for drivers of the capital’s public transportation system, regardless of ownership, did not receive the number of votes required for consideration. As of September 8, the initiative, submitted on July 10, had been supported by only 496 citizens out of the 6,000 required.
The author of the proposal emphasized the need to ensure that drivers on both municipal and private routes maintain a neat appearance, suggesting that uniforms be color-coded according to the type of vehicle—tram, trolleybus, bus, or route taxi. The initiative also called for conducting a survey via the “Kyiv Digital” app and requiring drivers to wear badges displaying their last name, first name, photo, and personal identification number.
