In Kyiv, bomb disposal experts destroyed a dangerous component of a missile warhead
In Kyiv, State Emergency Service bomb disposal experts used a robotic system to destroy a cluster munition left over from a rocket warhead. The dangerous object was neutralized remotely.
“Today, bomb disposal experts from the pyrotechnics, underwater, and humanitarian demining unit of the special-purpose emergency rescue detachment destroyed a cluster submunition from a missile’s warhead,” the statement said.

As noted by the State Emergency Service, since this type of explosive object cannot be transported due to its sensitivity to external stimuli, the only way to dispose of it is to detonate it directly at the site where it was found.

This cluster submunition resembles a metal ball with a diameter of about 10 cm. Its primary function is to create the most dangerous area of impact over a large area.
The State Emergency Service emphasized to adults that, due to their appearance, such explosive devices can arouse curiosity—particularly in children—so it is important to remind them of the basic rules: “Don’t approach! Don’t touch! Call 101!”
The State Emergency Service’s Main Directorate in Kyiv reported this on Facebook.
