In Kyiv, students stole a rental car and stripped it for parts
In the capital, law enforcement officers detained two students who stole a car from a rental service and dismantled it in the woods.
This was reported by the Kyiv Police.
The incident occurred in the Desnianskyi district. A company representative contacted law enforcement after a Volkswagen car, parked the previous evening, went missing.
Law enforcement officers determined that two young men, aged 20 and 21, were involved in the crime.
According to the investigation, they unlocked the car and drove it to a wooded area, where they removed valuable parts—wheels, mirrors, headlights, the car stereo, and other components. Afterward, they left the car body in the woods and transported the parts in their own vehicle.
The suspects were detained and charged with unlawful appropriation of a vehicle committed by a group of individuals.
The penalty under this article provides for up to eight years of imprisonment. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
