Volunteer teams are being formed in Kyiv to respond to emergencies
Civil defense volunteer units are being formed in Kyiv, with more than 1,000 people having already joined. They are expected to be called upon to assist in the event of emergencies.
According to Petro Panteleev, acting first deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration, these units include, in particular, essential city workers who have been designated as priority personnel.
Volunteers can man resilience centers, maintain generators, and perform other necessary tasks during crises.
Panteleev explained that during emergencies, Kyiv may face a shortage of workers, so the city is creating a reserve of people it can count on during difficult times.
“We already have over 1,000 people in our volunteer units, and we will rely on them during difficult times,” he said.

A Russian attack damaged a furniture factory in Vasylkiv.
In the Sumy region, Russian troops carried out a series of strikes on civilian targets. As a result of the attacks, an 83-year-old woman was killed, and at least 16 other people were injured.
As a reminder, fires broke out at industrial facilities in the Kyiv region due to an attack by the Russian Federation.
Russia also launched a massive attack on Kyiv, killing and wounding civilians.
