Kyiv City Express service was suspended in Kyiv due to an aerial threat
On September 12, service on the Kyiv City Express commuter trains was temporarily suspended in Kyiv due to an elevated air threat.
This was reported by the official channel of the Kyiv Circular Commuter Train operated by Ukrzaliznytsia.
“Due to an elevated air threat to the capital, on the instructions of the Ukrzaliznytsia monitoring group, Kyiv City Express train service in both directions has been temporarily suspended,” the statement reads.
“Stay at least 200 meters away from railway infrastructure or take shelter. Service on the loop will resume once the air threat has passed,” Ukrzaliznytsia urged.
Later, Ukrzaliznytsia reported that Kyiv City Express train service had resumed.
“After safety stops, service on the loop has resumed. Kyiv City Express continues to operate along its route. We are minimizing delays as much as possible,” the statement said.
As a reminder, the Ajax Systems distributor’s warehouse was damaged as a result of the shelling of Kyiv.
Kyiv has begun stockpiling food and drinking water in preparation for prolonged power outages and other emergencies. The city aims to prepare reserves in advance that can be used at resilience centers and to assist residents in the event of large-scale disruptions.
A new air threat alert system went into operation in Kyiv on September 6. Now, city residents will receive notifications not only about the fact that a threat exists, but also about its type—drone, missile, or a combination of both.
