Multiplex in Kyiv has changed its operating procedures during air raid alerts

The Multiplex cinema chain has updated its operating procedures in Kyiv following the introduction of differentiated air raid alert levels. Now, the cinema’s response and the possibility of ticket refunds depend on the threat level.

During a “yellow” alert, screenings are suspended, and patrons are informed of the threat and the need to proceed to a shelter. A corresponding message also appears on the screen in the auditorium.

However, a “yellow” alert does not automatically mean that a screening will be canceled. Once the threat level is lowered, the screening may resume. Guests who decide to leave the theater may request a ticket refund.

At the “red” level, the cinema’s operations are completely suspended, and scheduled screenings are canceled. Patrons must proceed to a safe location. Once the alert has ended or been downgraded to the “yellow” level, Multiplex may resume operations.

If a screening is canceled due to a “red” alert level, moviegoers can receive a promo code for a future screening in lieu of the purchased ticket.

However, the specific procedure may vary by movie theater. If the rules of a shopping and entertainment center require operations to be suspended during any alert level, Multiplex is required to comply.

In Kyiv, the chain’s movie theaters are located in the Lavina Mall, Prospekt, Atmosfera, Komod, TSUM, Victoria Gardens, Retroville, and Respublika shopping and entertainment centers.
