A state of extreme fire danger has been declared in Kyiv and the surrounding region

An extreme fire danger level is expected in Kyiv and the Kyiv region from July 31 through August 2. This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.

Due to the high fire risk, residents of the capital and visitors to the city are urged to exercise caution while enjoying the outdoors. In particular, it is recommended not to build campfires in unsuitable locations, not to use faulty or damaged electrical equipment, and to strictly follow fire safety rules.

The Kyiv City State Administration also reminded the public that, during martial law, the ban on visiting forests and forest park areas—whether on foot or by vehicle—remains in effect.

In Greece, firefighters have been trying for the second day in a row to contain massive wildfires on the island of Crete. Due to the rapid spread of the fire the day before, local residents and tourists were evacuated from dangerous areas.
