A themed subway car has been launched in the Kyiv Metro to mark the 12th anniversary of the National Guard
A unique branded subway car commemorating the anniversary of the Ukrainian National Guard has begun operating on the Svyatoshynsko-Brovarska line of the Kyiv Metro.
According to the National Guard of Ukraine’s press service, this joint project between the National Guard and the Kyiv Metro municipal enterprise aims to highlight the unity between the country’s defenders and the civilian population. The car’s design is based on the concept of an invisible yet strong bond between the guardsmen on the front lines and the Ukrainian people, who serve as their reliable support at the rear.
The interior of the car is adorned with iconic phrases that have become a shared code for Ukrainians over the years of war: “A Shared Future,” “Our Country,” “Our Wisdom,” and “A Shared Destiny.” These slogans remind passengers of the daily struggle for every inch of land and the experience forged in battle. While Russia attempts to intimidate peaceful cities with shelling, such initiatives in the heart of the capital demonstrate the indomitable spirit and unity of society around its defenders.
The National Guard’s press service emphasized that the guardsmen are, first and foremost, ordinary neighbors, friends, and colleagues of Kyiv residents who have donned their uniforms for the sake of the country’s freedom. The themed train has become a symbolic reminder that even amid the fast pace of the metropolis, the army and the people remain one. The organizers hope that the patriotic design of the train car will inspire thousands of passengers every day to support the Defense Forces until complete victory.
On March 10, 2026, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko signed an order establishing new specialized units within the structure of the National Guard of Ukraine. The Guard will include two regiments of unmanned systems, two assault regiments, and a separate airspace defense regiment.
