Okhmatdyt has completed the restoration of its state-of-the-art building following shelling by Russian forces
Construction and renovation work has been fully completed at the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital to restore the innovative wing, which suffered severe damage as a result of a Russian missile strike.
Specialists have fully restored the damaged facade of the building, replaced all broken windows, and completely renovated the interior rooms.
Currently, medical staff are conducting a thorough inspection and preparation of the premises before the full resumption of medical services.
Construction workers have completed a massive amount of work to restore the building’s functionality as quickly as possible.
In addition to exterior work on thermal modernization and wall repairs, significant attention was paid to the interior space. Doctors are already equipping the offices with necessary medical equipment and checking the life support systems.
Despite the significant damage caused by the occupiers, this building even continued to operate partially, and care for children was provided even during the restoration.
This approach made it possible to avoid interrupting complex and life-saving procedures for young patients.
Soon, the renovated wards will be able to admit a significantly larger number of children in need of highly specialized treatment.
Okhmatdyt Began Reconstruction After a Rocket Strike
As a reminder, the Ministry of Health received a request from the Ministry of Defense for medical personnel for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The armor of specialists needed by the army will be removed.
We have also previously reported that following the rocket attack on the Okhmatdyt National Children’s Specialized Hospital in July 2024, restoration work is actively underway at the facility. Since then, a number of hospital facilities have already been rebuilt.
