Video: BMW and Range Rover drivers penalized in Kyiv for aggressive driving
In Kyiv, police took action against two drivers of a BMW and a Range Rover who had been systematically violating traffic laws and exhibiting aggressive behavior on the road. The offenders’ vehicles were impounded and taken to a holding lot.
This was reported in a Telegram post by Oleksiy Biloshitsky, First Deputy Head of the Patrol Police Department.
According to the police press service, one of the Range Rover drivers staged a “race” through the capital’s central streets and bragged about his “achievements” on social media.
Another driver in a BMW was also driving through the capital’s central streets, violating traffic rules and creating a hazardous situation for other road users while performing a drift.
It is noted that the police quickly identified both offenders and filed the appropriate administrative reports against them.
In addition, during the inspection of the vehicles, signs of an offense under Article 290 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine were discovered. An investigative team from the Kyiv City Police Department was called to the scene. The cars were towed to an impound lot, and the information was entered into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Article 290.
Thus, the offenders face a fine of 150 to 250 non-taxable minimum incomes, or correctional labor for up to 2 years, or restriction of liberty for up to 3 years.
Earlier in Kyiv, a driver who struck a National Guard soldier at a checkpoint was convicted.
Earlier, the Kyiv Regional Police launched an internal investigation into a man hitting a TCC employee.
A traffic accident occurred at one of the checkpoints in the Odesa district. A State Border Guard Service officer was killed in the accident.
